BUS 135 Week 1 Marketing Ideas

This week’s assignment is to develop marketing ideas for Tiki Run in California. I’m excited to read about an event in my neighbor city and to work on this assignment. The original link in the assignment was not working so I searched Tiki Run and was able to see what the previous events looked like and what their intended theme is.

Since this is an event that has fun activity with Hawaiian theme, the general target/demographic is the people who like beach activities and/or want to have some fun in Hawaiian costumes. First idea is to create an official event page in social media websites such as Facebook then develop a schedule to post a picture or video about the event regularly.

Second idea is to create a social media event that lets the people who want to participate in the event to tag someone who they want to take to the event with, and later 3 of the participants who tagged in the social media post are selected for free t-shirt and free souvenirs for him and the tagged person.

Third idea is to have a “early bird discount”. It is to announce a discounted price for people who want to sign up early. Such as $15 off for signing up a month before the event, $5 off for signing up 2 weeks before and such. When the people sign up early, they are going to help others want to join the event as well by showing their status that they are participating in the event. So I believe that this is a good for both parties.
